Beretta Tomcat Inox Frame Crack
Re: Cracked Beretta 92FS slide « Reply #19 on: July 07, 2009, 08:08:02 pm » The next time I need to train with a beretta, I will buy a gun made by a reputable firm who stands behind their products. I madee a mistake that I have since learned not to do. I was the first kid on the block with the Tomcat when it was new. After a couple hundred rounds it cracked a frame. Beretta fixed it quickly. Then the slide cracked. They came out with a new 'widebody' as they called it that solved the problem. Once all that was taken care of I really liked. Beretta tomcat cracked frame. 2) after prolonged firing, they are “frame crackers.” My Beretta Model 3032 INOX Tomcat until recently had digested over 2000 rounds of hot Euro and heavy bullet hand loads before eventually failing. If you own a Beretta Tomcat, open the tip-up barrel and inspect the frame rail above the trigger pivot hole for cracks, as shown in the photo.

Beretta Tomcat Inox Frame Crack Problem
I'm looking for some input from those that have owned/carried and shot one. I'm in the market for a pocket gun. I was leaning towards the Ruger LCP, but the Tomcat looks like it might be a little better craftet for longtermdurability. Ammo availability is also an issue. I have seen more shelves with .32 than .380 in my area. I know both have had some quality issues, I just like the thought of carrying steel better than plastic. Oh, and let's not get into a debate about stopping power. I am a .45 guy personally, I'm just in the market for something that could be thrown into a pocket as a back up or primary depending on attire. Having even a .32 or .22 is better than harsh language in a SD situation. Thanks for your time.
